Rev. Lawrence Dō’an Grecco at Kannonji Zen Retreat in Second Life®, March 18, 2012 (PST)
Kannonji Zen Retreat in Second Life® is pleased to announce that Rev. Lawrence Dō’an Grecco will be at our virtual zendo to give a dharma talk on Sunday, March 18 at 11 AM Pacific (same as Second Life time). This will be the first time Rev. Grecco has been to Kannonji, so let’s all turnout to give him a warm welcome.

“Rev. Lawrence Grecco (Dō’an Sunim) is a Zen Buddhist Priest, life coach and authorized dharma teacher.
He was ordained by the Five Mountain Zen Order, and holds a certificate in Foundations in Buddhist Chaplaincy from the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. As part of his chaplaincy training he offered spiritual care and support to terminally ill patients in a hospice residence.
Lawrence is a graduate of the Buddhist Studies program and is authorized as a dharma teacher by the Interdependence Project in Manhattan.
In conjunction with the Lineage Project he taught meditation to at-risk and incarcerated teenagers.
He worked as a counselor with the Long Island Crisis Center for several years and co-founded LIGALY, a youth support group on Long Island which he facilitated for close to a decade.
Currently Lawrence volunteers with the Ali Forney Center as a life coach in one of their transitional living programs, and is the Founding Director and main teacher of Open Sky, a Buddhist meditation group that meets several times a month at the LGBT Center and the New York Insight Meditation Center in New York City.”
